There is plenty of content documenting the evolution of this industry, but I have found most of it to be focussed on the vision and direction of the technology vendors, and we lose sight of the most important group of people. The practitioner community.
Sure, each vendor has a user group. But they tend to focus exclusively on their own product suite, and do not account for the fact that most large companies need a variety of products to address their challenges. There is a need for cross vendor collaboration.
While the primary focus of this site will be on the practitioner community, it will also be important to engage the vendors, the analysts and the consultants. We all play a role in developing and implementing solutions that help companies get the most from their talent.
